Yosano, in northern Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, has longstanding links with Aberystwyth connected to Frank Evans, a former prisoner of war. The friendship has been built largely through school and cultural exchanges, and was formally reaffirmed by the Town Council in 2023. Yosano is also known for Tango chirimen silk weaving and kimono culture.
